Updates are below.
Dell Dimension plugged in, Initial Diagnosis underway.
After some diagnosis the HDD was found to be failing, bad sectors have been found, and the drive is making the click of death noises.
A new HDD will have to be purchased.
Customer advised.
Customer has given me the go ahead for a new HDD, ordered.
HDD arrived.
Attempting cloning of old to new.
Due to amount of errors on the HDD, cloning is painfully slow, estimated time to complete was some 500 hours.
Due to this I have cancelled the cloning process, will look for an alternative.
Worst case, may have to fresh install the OS on the New drive and attempt to copy data over manually.
A Fresh install of windows was performed, Old HDD was too damaged to recover anything.
Windows updated, Av installed, Office installed.
Customer Advised system is ready for collection.
Customer Paid and collected system.
