Join the club Tony, My machine has done similar, started going dead slow to do anything, so ok I had to go to work so shut it down, but it didn’t turn off so did it manually.

When I booted in it up in the evening it posted ok, then came up with `Can not find boot device` or something to that vain, the long and the short of it is that after checking bios and disconnecting all other devices seemed like the hdd had give up, it did boot but BOD and restart. Anyway, striped an old system for scrap and got a 20gb samsung with xp on, stuck it in my box and booted ok with xp moaning about hardware changes so updated some of the drivers to make it run better and recognise the sata ports.

The idea was to try to get access to my old C drive `sata`, and try to image it to a new hdd, but, this 20 had AVG and it decided it had found a Trojan so I clicked heal, fine, job done it said, until after a reboot at which point windows declared it couldn’t load the login interface, tried a couple things but didnt work so trashed it and installed UBUNTU 8.04 which is now running fine hence I can post this.

Will still try to get my xp hdd imaged if possible or at least recover some files, big disks are fine but the more space the more stuff you keep on it and the more to lose when things go awry…. Backing up is a good idea but there’s so much, and what if the precious backup fails……. is there no end..

Well a update on the txt you guys may have got.

i was playing a game called shift heads 0 on facebook and investigated it and found more to the series of games but when i tried to play the games they ran slow even tho they had already loaded i just thought it was a bad server and waited for a little bit but nope didnt change then i got the blue screen of death i instantly knew something was up and restarted as soon as my comp booted i ran avg anti virus but after 30 mins of it running my comp froze up big time no mouse move ment no hdd noise nothing so i restarted but after running the bios bits it couldent boot windows i thought it was a boot device problem so checked that in setup but everything was fine so i decided to leave it for a bit and then it came up with script read error or something but it wouldent boot up so now its dead till i can get a external harddrive and a sata to usb external box to get my important files off i.e pics vids music and saved games. so i am using meshies laptop to check my e-mails and sign into msn

Be carefull what you text or wright in your online chats, what may be innocent banter could be construde as subversive activity if these new proposals become law, even your e-mail will be subject to scrutiny along with your browsing history.

One has to think small business may suffer at the hands of corperates with more clout, but on the other hand underhand activity could become visible in corperate sector trading, maybe, I see no mention of phone conversation tracking, maybe its to come later, or is it allready in play ???…  But, hey, its all for your protection after all, right !!.

one last thing, chip and pin security, use cash instead if your in doubt, especially at petrol stations as these sees to be the prime targets of scammers judging by the news reports…..

What is it you say, not the Northern Lights I say although just as spectacular ( my opinion anyway ) in its own way, OK its only concept at the moment but maybe some parts are already in play.

Right, been playing with playground again and all seems well, well allmost as I cant say i`ve noticed the effect on the other sites, that is to say its posible to create new catergories which show in the admin list and are editable but dont appear on the live site under catagories until they have at least 1 post, if you follow what I mean. If you write a post all catagories are present to select for posting to as normal, once published the catagory becomes visible under catagories on the site main page…..Its just a bit odd, not realy a major problem as such but could put you off …wondered if this is still a db prob…

BTW put logo back on gatwick as you may have seen …

Now I thought anyone could blog about almost anything, irespective of age or gender, and so it is for the most part. Maybe it started out as a nerdy thing to do by mostly male techie types but times change, attitudes, and the human desire to belong and mix with like minded/type people, look at the various social networks of which many users belong to more than one such network, to share experiance and knowledge, to express views and opinions and to learn from all of this. The internet is now a part of many peoples lives, at work and home, at school, the ease and speed that the younger generation learn to use the latest gadgets and technologies is astounding, my elder grandaughter is not yet 3 but she knows to feed and exercise her virtual pet on a DS and put her dads Viewty into camera mode. One has to wonder of the next level of technology in the not so distant future and its effect on our childrens children, have we gone too far too fast allready..  ??.

My test site … OK.. the site is visible, fine, but it still aint workin right

cant add any pages, widgets dont show in the side bars, when I do add a page it shows as a draft in manage pages but not in the list and I cant retrieve it. … Is it a corrupted db or a permissions issue, is it a WP problem, would it be better to start again and delete the db and site now the domain is visible. But the other site (which is also a sub-domain by the way) seems ok, although it is still on WP 2.5.1, maybe I should wait for 2.6.1??

And yet we are a free nation, we can choose and do, sometimes unwisely, but we still have that choice for now, strange how eastern Europe seems to be slowly liberating itself as we seemingly become more controlled.
Maybe technology is to blame for making it so much esier to manage and store vast amounts of information, one has to wonder with all the laws and regulations (most no one knows until they`ve broken one), are they really protecting who they are meant to, or is it the pockets of the corperations and monster companies and shareholders bonus..

This car is to be no more, it is to be either sold for scrap, or privately sold.

UPDATE:  11/07/08 - Car will not start, so cant take it anywhere to part exchange it for another car, meaning i wont get as much for it if someone has to take it away. what a fuc k!

 UPDATE: 12/07/08 - Car now starts so at least i can take it someplace to get rid of it or things.

I have found 2 nice Renault Megan Scenics for not bad money… but aint got the money to say yes to anything yet.

upon my arival home today something told me to check the tomb of the late grate §hadow XGSx64 i dont know if it was devine intervention or what, but as i looked at the tomb i notised the rock in front of the door had moved and the tomb was empty.  At first i thought that grave robbers had taken my dearly departed pc untill i noticed only one set of foot prints leading away from his death bed. Thats when i saw it … glinting away at me was my pc, with a fue cuts and bruses and a little less memory but all the same it was my pc. god has been smileing down upon me he said to me with a convieant beam of light parting through the clouds and a smile on his face.

Well im considering Buying this as i miss video editing and doing little vids of are games i still have the cod2 one me scott and paul made and i wish to do more i tested the trial and it runs fine with cod4 although the trial dosent do audio but its realy cool as it has a little window of whats recording.. but i just have to sort out my money trouble first as its $19.95 wich is about £10.1382 but i reckon its worth it as it looks even batter than fraps

On out way home from Yeovilton Air day 2008, Smoke could be seen bellowing from the drivers side compartment of the engine bay, upon getting shawn, gemma, alex, alisha, and holy-may out of the car, and clear we opend (with hesitation) the bonnet, as it smelt really bad, once opened was Alot of smoke coming from the the AC compressor,  we cooled it down with water, and managedto stop it smoking, upon starting the car up again, it sounded rough, infact it sounded nakerd but we had no choice but to run with it.

we noticed a mark on the floow where we rolled it foward abit to check for leaks, and there was a leak, defo oil based, coming from around the same area, so I suspect that the compressor is leaking oil, and Refridgerant. not good as new compressor’s are around £400….

What to do?

where do i go, i need a large car for out ever growing family, as we no doubt will wnat another kid at someppoint and a little fiesta aint big enough for 3 baby seats, anyhoo please post your suggestions, and i’m outta money to repair it, and have no money for a newer car.

i’m lost, an fed up with it, but i love that car…

just a short post to say Rest In Peace to my PC that sadly lost the fight to servive on the 4th of july 2008. altho the doctors worked as hard as they could they just couldent save him, the mobo took its last clock cycle at 11:37 pm.
